Durellia. A game of Survival of the Fittest, where in this RPG you must fight for your character's very existance in a world where humans are a dying race, struggling against all odds against the rising power of the Vampires. Durellia. It can be described by one word; warfare. It is the constant human struggle to survive in a world of warring races, and the domination of Vampires around them.
Our story takes place 651 years after the historic Battle of Wesnectify, where Elves fought alone against Vampires and Demons who ravaged their homeland. Though the Elves took a devastating blow to their culture, and are rumored to be extinct, their race still exists. With Wesnectify left in ruins, the remainder of the Elven race wanders Durellia in search for new homeland. This is now a time where Vampires are gaining control, and numbers; Pirates struggle to survive, while merchants and miners are rolling in riches. A time when Dragons are but myth, stories for children. Wars are waged between old friends, and even older enemies. A time where the light is dim, and darkness is rising.
Main Plot: The Vampire Clan known as "Nemesis", being lead by the Highlord, God of Death, and Mesillcaan's third born "Vain", are attempting to wipe out the human race for total control of Durellia. Though their numbers are small and their actions few and far between, the damage has been immense. Meanwhile, rouge Vampires travel Durellia without purpose, only a shadow in Nemesis' glory. The Vampire race as a whole has raised entire cities, made Lords, constructed Castles and collected numbers. There is one force, and one force alone that can stop Vain in his trek for world dominance.
The Demons. Or, more specifically, the Half-Demon Half-Vampire known only as Sukinahito - the First Born child of Mesillcaan himself. Because of Sukinahito’s hatred for his father cheating on his mother to make two more children, Sukinahito has made it his personal goal to rid the world of his baby brother. With the Mantis Clan unconditionally giving loyalty to him, one must wonder how many more bad deeds before Sukinahito puts an end to Vain.
It seems that the Holy Lands, belonging to the God of Elements, Alladon, is the only peaceful place left on Durellia. While he and his Clerics reside there, the Mages University flourishes and peace remains, for now. However, with all these pacifists living together, if evil forces were ever to invade the Iviastara, Alladon would fall to the Nemesis Clan.. with, or without the aid of the white mages under him.
In the land of Keno, the King and Queen have been murdered by assassins from the kingdom of Voharan. The peace treaty between the lands, broken. Their only child, Princess Niamora, unmarried. With the council disbanded by Niamora herself, she's taken the throne as Queen and waged war against the people of Voharan. Her armies attack their land this very day. Keno is considered another “safe haven” on Durellia for their strict laws. Pirates and Vampires are captured and sentenced to death, and anyone who even looks suspicious is put under a watchful eye.
The people of Voharan have long had a peace treaty with the Kingdom of Keno, but they have been enemies for even longer. However, after assassins killed Keno's king and Queen, their own Princess is rumored dead after her disappearance from Voharan.
Sakkar Asfar remains neutral in the battle between Keno and Voharan. Though the once were a part of this treaty as well, they broke it by not assisting Keno in seeking revenge for their fallen leader. Now, Vain chooses to attack Sakkar Asfar unmercifully, killing everything in his path. The Mercenaries Ranks have been disbanded, all of it’s members seeking refuge outside the great Desert.
In Slavista, tragedy. Vain, Vatar and their new 'friend' Roland took siege on the Golden City, taking the lives of many and destroying their royal lineage. Now, human survivors live in mortal fear of the Vampires that took their homeland from them, but have no money and no means to escape. All they can do is band together and survive against the overwhelming population of Vampires that grows every day.
Malastrana, home of the Knights of the Rose - the band of Knights originally formed by Atrix Declarion himself to battle the evil that was Vora. Now, however, they wage war with their land-neighbors, Shalatran.
Not as many Pirate ships sail the seas these days, making a living is becoming more and more difficult as years pass. The talk going around is that there are at least three major treasures hidden on Durellia, but nobody has any idea where as the ancient maps have long been only a legend. Only the brightest and most courageous of Pirates will learn of their whereabouts. Overlook City is a safe-haven to Pirates, in a city full of sin and temptation.
